Jackpots

Jackpot Types

Unibo supports multiple jackpot types, each designed to control how and when payouts are triggered. These types define whether a jackpot is driven by value, time, or probabilistic growth, allowing operators to balance predictability, engagement, and risk. The following sections describe the available jackpot types and how they behave.

Amount Jackpot

An amount-based jackpot guarantees that the jackpot will be triggered before reaching a predefined maximum value.

The jackpot grows over time as players contribute, and the probability of a payout increases progressively as the jackpot amount approaches the configured maximum.

This ensures that the jackpot is always awarded within a defined range, creating a balance between predictability and excitement.

Timed Jackpot

A timed jackpot guarantees that the jackpot is triggered no later than a predefined time interval, rather than based on reaching a target amount.

The jackpot grows over time as players contribute, and the probability of a payout increases progressively as the configured deadline approaches. This means the jackpot may be paid out earlier, but it must be paid out by the defined latest payout time.
The payout schedule can be configured as:

  • Hourly – must be paid out no later than the top of each hour

  • Daily – must be paid out no later than a specified time each day

  • Weekly – must be paid out no later than a specified day and time each week

This ensures that the jackpot is always awarded within a defined time window, while the increasing probability curve creates the possibility of an earlier payout.

Progressive jackpot

A progressive jackpot grows over time as players contribute, with the payout occurring based on a probability-driven model.
The probability of a payout increases as the jackpot value grows, creating a dynamic balance between early and late wins.

The jackpot is configured with two internal control parameters:

  • Average Payout Value – Defines the target average value at which the jackpot is expected to be triggered over time. This is used for mathematical balancing only and is not visible to players.

  • Maximum Jackpot Value – Defines the absolute cap at which the jackpot must be paid out if not triggered earlier. This ensures the jackpot does not grow indefinitely and is not visible to players.

This setup ensures that payouts occur within a controlled range, combining predictable long-term behavior with variable, player-facing outcomes.
